- Biography:
- Dr Bura Paul is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Animal Science and Fisheries, Faculty of Agricultural and Forestry Science, Universiti Putra Malaysia Campus Bintulu Sarawak. Before joining UPM in June 2022, he was a Registered Veterinarian, Senior Lecturer, and Consultant in Large Animal (Ruminant) Clinical Practice at the University of Maiduguri Veterinary Teaching Hospital from 2012-2022. His research is focused on the epidemiology of parasitic diseases of ruminants and the impact of ruminant diseases on sustainable production and food security. He is a prolific writer with over 60 peer-reviewed scholarly publications in reputable academic journals. He has 11 years of experience at the university level and is currently teaching courses on Animal Anatomy, Animal Diseases, Animal Reproduction, Practices of Veterinary Medicine, Advanced Statistics, and Research Methods at UPM. Dr Paul received his PhD in Ruminant Medicine with a specialization in the Epidemiology of Parasitic Diseases from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universiti Putra Malaysia, where he won the Best PhD Thesis MVP Award for the 2020/2021 Academic Session. He obtained a Master of Veterinary Science (MVSc) in Veterinary Parasitology from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine University of Maiduguri in 2016. He also graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) with 9 distinctions from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine University of Maiduguri and qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon in 2010.
