- Biography:
- Anke Weisheit is a seasoned expert in project coordination, innovation incubation, and strategic planning, with over 20 years of experience in agribusiness, traditional medicine, and rural development. As Strategic Advisor & Co-Founder at Mbarara University, she led PHARMBIOTRAC, securing a $6M World Bank grant, fostering biodiversity-based MSMEs, and integrating research-to-commercialization. Previously, as Director at EHCAI Ltd, she advanced agribusiness value chains, food security, and climate-smart farming. A prolific consultant, she has worked with UNDP, WHO, EU, GIZ, and FAO, evaluating grants, designing incubation frameworks, and strengthening livelihood programs in refugee settings. She holds a Master’s in Agriculture (Germany) and certifications in PRINCE2, ILO-SIYB, and strategic leadership. Recognized as a 2023 AWIEF Lifetime Achievement Award finalist, she has co-developed herbal products with regulatory approvals and published on ethnobotany and food security. Fluent in German & English, she has worked across 18+ countries.
