Biography:
Nirmal Raj Marasine is a dedicated pharmacist, researcher, and academician with extensive experience in clinical pharmacy, public health, and pharmacoepidemiology. He holds a Master of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Clinical Pharmacy from Pokhara University, Nepal, with a strong research focus on medication adherence, drug utilization, and health outcome research. His bachelor's degree in pharmacy was earned from Chitwan Medical College, affiliated with Tribhuvan University. Marasine has served as an Assistant Professor at CiST College, Pokhara University, where he was actively involved in teaching, supervising research projects, and mentoring students. His research interests encompass epidemiology, public health, medication adherence and optimization, communicable diseases, drug utilization, mental health, geriatric health, women’s health, and clinical pharmacy services. He has an impressive portfolio of peer-reviewed publications in reputed international journals, many of which explore pharmaceutical interventions, patient-reported outcomes, and healthcare service optimization. As a principal investigator and corresponding author, his contributions have significantly impacted pharmacy practice, particularly in Nepal. His research on pharmacist-led interventions has provided valuable insights into improving adherence to antidepressants, hypertension management, and medication-related health outcomes. Beyond research, Marasine has been actively engaged in pharmacy education and policy development. He has contributed as an author of the Trainee Manual for Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) and Good Storage and Distribution Practice (GSDP). Additionally, he has held leadership roles, such as Research Coordinator at the Department of Professional Training, Research, and Publication at Karnali College of Health Sciences, and served as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Karnali Education and Health Research. His expertise extends to statistical analysis and data management, utilizing tools such as SPSS, R, Stata, SAS, and EndNote, making him proficient in handling complex health data and conducting pharmaco-epidemiological studies. Currently based in United state, Marasine continues to pursue academic and research excellence, seeking opportunities to contribute to pharmaceutical outcomes research, public health policy, and health behavior studies. His commitment to advancing healthcare research and education underscores his vision of enhancing patient care through evidence-based practice and policy reforms.
