Biography:
Awol Ali is a Lecturer at the College of Law and Governance, Hawassa University, Ethiopia. He holds dual master’s degrees in Political Science and Philosophy. His research spans critical topics such as hydro-politics, geopolitics, democracy, peace and security, identity, gender, minority rights, migration, regional integration, constitutional studies, human rights, political economy, and development. In the realm of philosophy, his expertise includes Critical Theory, Global Justice, Applied Ethics, Political Philosophy, Comparative Philosophy, African Philosophy, Philosophy of Education, and intercultural Philosophy. Awol published 19 peer-reviewed articles in Scopus indexed journals, 16 conference proceedings, 6 competitive research grants, and 7 peer review roles for reputable journals. In recognition of his scholarly achievements, he was honored with the Bronze Medal as the Top Researcher at Hawassa University in 2023. Currently, he serves as an Associate Editor for the Ethiopian Journal of Governance and Development (EJGD).
