- I have a Bachelor of Education (BEd) in English language from Bahir Dar University, an MA in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) from Addis Ababa University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in TEFL with a focus on Context-based approaches to teacher CPD from Addis Ababa University. I was employed as a teacher at Maichew Technical College upon the completion of my BEd. Then, I have been working as a teacher at Dilla University since 2008. At the university, I have been teaching undergraduate and graduate students, mentoring pre-service teachers during the practicum programme, mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students with their thesis work, and conducting small- to large-scale individual and group teacher research. In addition, I work as a book reviewer (in teacher education) for Vernon Press, an article editor for Sage journal, and a peer reviewer for research articles in local and international publishers. Moreover, I am working as a staff CPD Leader for the Higher Diploma Programme (HDP), which is held annually at Dilla University and other colleges and teacher education institutes. I have been attending short courses that focus on teaching and learning, student advising and mentoring, research article publishing, and research article peer reviewer and editor as part of my professional learning and development. I have earned more than 180 certificates of attendance for these courses. Educational Research, Initial Teacher Education, Teacher Continual Professional Learning and Development (CPD), Assessment and Testing, Reflective Practice, Action Research, Communities of Practice, Education Quality, and Mentoring (pre-service, novice, and peer teacher mentoring) are among the fields in which I am interested in working.
