Biography:
Dr. Rajab Awami is a skilled veterinarian with extensive field experience in animal health research, training youth, and executing various veterinary-related activities. With a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine from Sokoine University of Agriculture, Rajab has a passion for environmental conservation, outreach, and One Health initiatives. Currently serving as a Tutorial Assistant at University of Dar es Salaam, College of Natural and Applied Science, Department of Zoology and Wildlife. His major responsibilities are research, teaching, and consultation in the area of Anatomy, Physiology, One Health, Zoology, Animal husbandry, Animal Health, and Wildlife Health. He also worked as a Project Officer at Sustainable Agriculture Tanzania (SAT). At SAT, he conducted participatory research with pastoralists on animal diseases, educates farmers on sustainable pasture production, and facilitates capacity-building training for young women in agroecology. Furthermore, Rajab is an experienced volunteer and has worked with organizations such as The African One Health University Network and Tanzania Veterinary Laboratory Agency.
