- Biography:
- Civil Engineer from Universidad del Magdalena (Colombia), with a master’s Degree in Hydrosystems from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Colombia), a Specialist Degree in Applied Statistics from the Universidad del Atlántico (Colombia), and an advanced course in security Dam Engineering at the Universidad de Buenos Aires (Argentina). Mines’ professional experience has focused on hydroclimatology, hydrology, and urban hydraulics. He has worked on significant projects related to aqueduct and sewerage networks, water resources, and evaluation of the water supply in Colombia. He has international experience performing hydraulic analysis and modeling of the water supply of Greater Buenos Aires (Argentina), the sewerage system of the city of Zarate (Argentina), the drainage system of the third Panama Canal (Panama), and the water supply master plan of Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia). I have taught undergraduate and graduate hydrology, water supply, sewer, and watershed planning courses. His publications include articles on hydroclimatically homogeneous areas, the impacts of recurrent events and their causes in Colombia, climate change effects in the Huila (Colombia) department, and toxicity evaluation of magnetic nanoparticles in Caenorhabditis elegans. I am a Ph.D. student in Water and Environmental Engineering at the Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain), working on my doctoral thesis to analyze and reduce uncertainty in seasonal forecasts.
