Biography:
Mr. Belete Addis is a lecturer at the University of Gondar, School of Law, Ethiopia, and a private attorney at law. He received his LL.M in Business and Corporate Law from Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia in 2018, and his LL.B, in 2014 from the same institution. After obtaining his LL.B he joined Mizan Tepi University, Ethiopia and served there as an assistant lecturer until he joined the University of Gondar as an assistant lecturer in September 2015. Alongside his academic duties, he was working as a free legal aid service provider at the Free Legal Aid Center of the School of Law, the University of Gondar. Since his return from Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia in June 2018 after completing his LL.M, he is serving as lecturer at the University of Gondar, School of Law. His main responsibilities as a lecturer include teaching law courses to undergraduate students, engaging in community services, undertake researches, and supervising undergraduate students on their research works. In addition to his service as a free legal aid provider, Mr. Belete served the Free Legal Aid Center of the School of Law as a Vice Director from Nov. 2019-Nov. 2021 and as a Director since Dec 2021. Besides his role in the teaching-learning activities, Mr. Belete has also engaged in several community services and research project works with different capacities, including as a project manager, principal investigator/implementer, and co-investigator. He also managed to produce scientific publications in peer reviewed journals. His research interests include policy and law related issues of business, taxation, investment, corporate, human rights, peace, and governance.
