- Mr. Sylivester Chaisamba is a Tanzanian graduated a Bachelor Degree in Environmental Engineering at the University of Dar Es Salaam in 2006. He was first employed as a meteorologist trainee in the Tanzania Meteorological Agency (TMA) and later trained for a postgraduate studies at the University of Pretoria in 2007. In 2008 he carried out a research on surface ozone at Cape Point, South Africa. In 2009 he graduated at the University of Pretoria and he was promoted to the post of a Meteorologist involved in Climatology and Climate Change issues within TMA. He presented the results of his research at the Young Earth Scientists (YES) Conference in Beijing, China in 2009 and at the 6th International Geoscience Education Conference held at the Witwatersrand University in South Africa in 2010. He has participated as invited scientist in the Mount Kilimanjaro Learning Expedition in Arusha, Tanzania in 2010 and 2011. He developed a lot of interest in the study of interaction of local forcing and external forcing to climate variability and climate change on high towering mountains like Mt. Kilimanjaro. Currently he is in a process of publishing a paper on surface ozone variations at Cape Point Global Atmosphere Watch station.
