Biography:
Danstan Dioniz Bigenayesu is an education scholar and researcher whose work examines the intersections of language, education policy, and educational inequality in Tanzania and across Africa. His research explores how language-of-instruction policies, educational choices, and school practices shape educational opportunities, quality, and equity. His scholarship is particularly concerned with how language and educational practices influence access to educational opportunities, school choice, and the experiences and decision-making of teachers, parents, and learners. His broader research interests include language of instruction, multilingual education, educational policy, school choice, educational equity and quality, and teacher experiences and practices. Through contextually grounded research, he seeks to deepen understanding of educational inequalities and inform policies and practices that promote more equitable and high-quality education.
