Making Medical Writing Easy for the Beginners
These materials are from a workshop given in Lahore, Pakistan, at the 3rd international conference of the Association for Excellence in Medical Education. Among the topics covered are publication ethics, components of a scientific paper, searching the literature, and citing references. There also are exercises on using instructions to authors, editing references, and editing for conciseness. Although this workshop focused on medical writing, much of the material could be used more generally in teaching research writing or adapted for such use. Some of the slides were taken or adapted, with permission, from the Texas A&M University intensive course in research writing.
