Call for Applications: AuthorAID–IFS Workshop on Scientific Writing in Nairobi
AuthorAID and the International Foundation for Science (IFS) are going to hold a 5-day joint workshop on scientific writing in Nairobi, Kenya, from 28 May to 1 June 2012. The purpose of the workshop is for early career scientists to build their capabilities in scientific writing. The workshop is intended for early career scientists dealing with various areas related to biological and water resources research. Participants may include recent MSc and PhD graduates.
The workshop is free of cost, and lunch and tea will be provided during the workshop. However, no subsistence expenses or per diem will be provided to the participants. All travel and accommodation expenses have to be borne by the participants.
AuthorAID is looking to nominate about 10 researchers for this workshop. If you meet the following criteria and are interested in the workshop, we encourage you to apply.
- You should be living in or near Nairobi, Kenya. This is mainly because we are unable to cover participants’ expenses.
- You should be an early-career scientist working in an area related to biological and water resources.
- You should be able to bring your own research writing and samples of journal articles to the workshop.
