Resource of the Week #134: Some Useful Blogs for Graduate Students and Others

By Barbara Gastel | Oct. 31, 2013

[This post is from Caroline Cage at INASP, who also provided some earlier guest posts. Continuing thanks, Caroline! —Barbara]

In my recent post about #phdchat on Twitter, I discussed how it can give you access to useful resources. Today I will note 3 of these resources that I have found very useful for writing and publication.

One resource is The Thesis Whisperer. This blog is full of useful advice on improving your writing and completing a PhD.

The second resource is PhD2Published. This blog gives advice on publishing your research.

The third resource is PhDTalk. It provides advice on the process of doing research (and of getting a PhD).

You can sign up for e-mail updates on the Thesis Whisperer and PhDTalk websites. All authors from these sites also tweet regularly on Twitter. You can find many more blogs with lots of advice on writing and publication by following the #phdchat Twitter feed.

[Note from Barbara: Do you have favorite blogs on research communication? If so, please contact me at bgastel@inasp.info. I might feature the blog as a Resource of the Week or ask whether you wish to submit a guest post.]
