Resource of the Week #205: The Impact of Social Sciences Blog
Hello again. Recently I received email from Richard de Grijs, an active member of the AuthorAID community. Richard was writing to mention a resource to consider featuring.
The resource is a blog post on writing conference abstracts. It is available on the Impact of Social Sciences blog.
The Impact of Social Sciences blog, which has many contributors, is from the London School of Economics and Political Science. The top of its homepage says, “Maximising the impact of academic research”.
Many posts from the Impact of Social Sciences blog discuss research communication or related topics. Here are some examples:
- “The Organized Mind: How to better structure our time in the age of social media and constant distraction”
- “The Impact Factor and Its Discontents: Reading list on controversies and shortcomings of the Journal Impact Factor”
- “How to Win at Academic Presentations: Top tips on what to say and how to say it”
- “How to Manage a Research Library with Zotero”
- “Your Essential ‘How-To’ Guide to Choosing Article Titles”
As its name indicates, this blog is mainly for researchers and others in the social sciences. Much of the content, however, also might interest researchers from other realms.
Thank you, Richard, for your continuing contributions to AuthorAID.
Until the next post—
Barbara
