Mental-health researcher wins AuthorAID story prize
AuthorAID is delighted to announce the winner of its first Exciting Stories competition. Among many strong entries, our judges felt that Dr Jibril Handuleh had the most engaging narrative about the role that INASP’s AuthorAID project has played in his research.
Dr Handuleh is a Somalian mental-health practitioner, researcher and lecturer based at Amoud University School of Health Sciences in Borama. He used AuthorAID to connect with mentors and publish over 15 papers in peer-reviewed journals including The American Journal of Psychiatry and The Lancet Psychiatry. Aside from the opportunity to share his AuthorAID story, Dr Handuleh will also receive a Kindle e-book reader to facilitate his growing academic career.
We look forward to sharing his inspiring article with the research community over the coming weeks, along with several compelling stories from runners up. Thank you to everyone who submitted their stories.
