By Barbara Gastel | Oct. 06, 2014

AuthorAID is pleased to announce its most recent workshop-grant recipients. The 4 recipients are

  • Dr. Leonorah Tendayi Nyaruwata, of Zimbabwe Open University, Zimbabwe
  • Dr. Joseph Sherman Kamara, of Njala University, Sierra Leone
  • Mr. Emmanuel Odama, of the National Agricultural Research Organisation, Uganda
  • Prof. Nalika Sepali Gunawardena, of the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka

Dr. Nyaruwata will facilitate a workshop titled “Writing High Quality Research Papers: Process, Challenges and Solutions”. A major goal of the workshop is to prepare participants to write publishable articles based on their theses.

Dr. Kamara is receiving a grant for a workshop titled “Collaborating for Winning International Grant Applications”. Researchers from both the Sierra Leone Agricultural Research Institute and Njala University will take part in the workshop.

Mr. Odama will facilitate a workshop titled “Appropriate Packing Research Results for the End User”. This workshop will instruct attendees in disseminating research findings to various end users, ranging from professionals to farmers.

Professor Gunawardena will facilitate a “Workshop on Research Writing and Research Presenting”. The participants will come from various members of LANKAPHEIN (the Sri Lankan Network of Public Health Education Institutes).

The workshops are to take place in late 2014 and early 2015. Each will last 2 or 3 days and have about 25 to 50 attendees. We hope that after the workshops, the grant recipients will write guest posts about them for the AuthorAID blog.

As usual, AuthorAID received many fine applications for the workshop grants. We commend all the applicants for their initiative, and we encourage them to continue seeking such opportunities.
