Resource of the Week #174: Some Infographics on Online Courses
Hello again. This week’s resource is a set of infographics about online learning. These infographics were created for INASP, which includes AuthorAID. They emphasize online learning in developing countries, including online courses from INASP.
The topics of these infographics are as follows:
- Items required for online learning in developing countries, and availability of these items
- How INASP’s online courses work, including how participants are chosen
- The demand for and benefits of online courses in developing countries
- Challenges to providing online courses in developing countries, and ways to overcome these challenges
- The demography of online-course participants in developing countries
- The outcomes of INASP online courses
- The demography of participants in INASP online courses (gender, location, educational level, etc)
In the infographic on outcomes, I was happy to see that of the researchers taking an AuthorAID writing course online, at least about two thirds had their papers accepted by peer-reviewed journals.
I also was glad to see that about half of those who had taken the course shared what they learned with colleagues and students.
These infographics impressed me as being very informative, readable, and attractive. My compliments to Nicola Adams, who created these infographics. And my thanks to Julie Walker at INASP for mentioning them.
Until next post—
