Resource of the Week #160: Good Guidance on Publicizing Your Work through LinkedIn
Hello again. On Thursday, Meredith Katz, author marketing specialist at the publisher Wiley, released a blog post titled “How to Promote Your Work through LinkedIn”. I am pleased to feature this post as our Resource of the Week.
This post contains much good advice on publicizing one’s work through LinkedIn, which is the professional networking site with the most users. Here’s some of the advice:
- List your most important accomplishments first.
- Move the “Publications” section to the upper part of your page.
- Write concisely, for easy readability.
- When you publish a paper or book, add a listing on it to the publications part of your profile. If possible, include links—for example, to an online copy of your article or to a review of your book.
- List awards that you have received.
- Consider attaching items such as images, videos, and presentations.
- Include your ORCID ID.
This blog post on promoting your work through LinkedIn is readably written. It includes helpful directions, for example on how to move sections of your profile or add items such as images.
I thank Sue Corbett, executive director of INASP, for mentioning this resource. If you have resources to suggest, please write to me at bgastel@inasp.info.
Until the next post—
