Four More Receive AuthorAID Workshop Grants
Greetings from Seat 22B of an airplane. I’m writing this blog post while flying home from the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) annual conference. Perhaps in the next few days I’ll provide a blog post about the conference.
Just before leaving for the conference, I was informed of the second set of AuthorAID workshop-grant recipients for 2012. I’m pleased to share this information with you. The recipients are
- Dr. Haseeb Irfanullah (General Secretary, Bangladesh Association of Plant Taxonomists), for a workshop to improve research-communication skills of young plant scientists in Bangladesh
- Ms. Fabiha Naumi (Director, Career Development Centre, Asian University for Women, Bangladesh), for a workshop on communicating science to other scientists and a workshop on communicating science to the public
- Mrs. Berthilde Uwamwezi (Director of Library, Ruhengeri Institute of Higher Education, Rwanda), for a workshop on proposal writing
- Ms. Hue Vu (Deputy Head, Public and Technical Service Division, Learning Resource Center, Thai Nguyen University, Vietnam), for a workshop on research-article writing
We commend the recipients for developing excellent workshop plans and presenting them persuasively. We also congratulate the recipients, wish them very successful workshops, and hope they will submit guest blog posts after the workshops.
In addition, we again thank American Journal Experts (AJE) for funding 3 of the workshop grants this year. And we thank the many other workshop-grant applicants for submitting proposals.
Now I’ll do a little reading (and maybe take a little nap) before the plane lands. Until the next post—
Barbara
