Resource of the Week #80: Some Resources Relating to Open Access
Hello again. As noted in my most recent blog post, Open Access Week is starting.
Therefore our current Resource of the Week is a list of 5 resources relating to open access. Here they are:
- Open Access Week: This resource is the Open Access Week website. When I viewed this site, I was happy to see a photo of a librarian in Nepal who had helped with an AuthorAID workshop.
- Open Access Overview: This introduction to open access is by Peter Suber, a leader in the field of open access. The end has links to translations of the overview into several languages, including Chinese, French, and Spanish.
- OpenDOAR: The Directory of Open Access Repositories: This directory lists high-quality repositories (collections) of openly accessible materials. Repositories in many countries are listed.
- SHERPA/RoMEO: This site provides information on journals’ and publishers’ policies on copyright and self-archiving. (In self-archiving, authors themselves make copies of their publications openly accessible, for example in repositories.)
- Directory of Open Access Journals: For information about this resource, please see Resource of the Week #33.
I hope you find these resources useful. And I wish you a good Open Access Week.
Until the next post—
Barbara
