Guest Post: Help us help you—the AuthorAID Survey 2013!
[This post is from AuthorAID intern Dr. Daniel Scott, who played a major role in developing the new AuthorAID survey. I join him in encouraging you to complete this survey. Thanks, Dan! —Barbara]
Over the last several years, AuthorAID has developed programs to help researchers worldwide improve their writing skills and publish their research. Some researchers have attended AuthorAID workshops. Some have completed our E-learning courses. Some have received help with manuscripts through our mentoring system. Some have used resources on our website.
We are now seeking to assess these programs using the AuthorAID Survey 2013.
This survey is open to anyone who has been involved with AuthorAID, even by only joining its website. As well as collecting basic information about our members, we aim to learn:
-
What involvement our members have had with the different AuthorAID programs;
-
How confident our members feel about communicating their research;
-
How useful AuthorAID is overall;
-
How much and where our members have been publishing and presenting;
-
Whether, and if so how, the AuthorAID programs have helped;
-
What parts of the programs are viewed as good; and
-
What improvements seem advisable.
We will use the findings to help our programs meet our members’ wants and needs. The more information we gather, the more useful we can make the programs!
The survey should take no more than 10 to 15 minutes to complete. Everyone who completes the survey can apply to win one of three $50 Amazon vouchers!
So, if you’d like to influence where the AuthorAID programs are going for the next few years, and if you have any time at all, please complete the AuthorAID Survey 2013!
Note: The data gathered will remain anonymous. Names and contact e-mail addresses are collected only for the prize draw and aren’t shared with anyone.
If you have questions or comments about this survey, or if you’d like more information, please contact Dr. Daniel Scott (AuthorAIDsurvey2013@inasp.info).
