Resource of the Week #50: Some Blog Posts on Choosing a Journal
Hello again. Recently I learned of a set of blog posts on choosing a journal to which to submit a paper.
These blog posts, which are by editor Anna Sharman, seem very informative. Therefore I’m featuring them as the Resource of the Week.
The titles of the posts are as follows:
As you may recall, some AuthorAID workshops also include advice on choosing a journal. However, this set of posts discusses some aspects in more detail.
Items that I found of interest in these posts included the following:
- information (in part I) on “cascading peer review”, in which after a journal rejects a paper, the peer reviews can go to another journal by the same publisher
- a list (in part II) of ways that some journals publicize papers that they publish
Especially if you’ll submit papers to journals, I encourage you to look at these blog posts.
Until next time— Barbara
