Management Research: A Conference and Some Resources
Greetings again. I hope you’re doing well.
I’m now in Kathmandu, Nepal. Currently I’m attending the international conference Changing Perspectives of Management: Revisiting the Existing Paradigms and Exploring New Frontiers.
This conference, organized by the Nepalese Academy of Management and KFA Business School, has included many papers on management research. It also included an AuthorAID “mini-workshop” on writing and publishing journal articles.
The main slides from this mini-workshop, which ran about 4 hours in all, are in the AuthorAID Resource Library. Both PDF and PowerPoint versions are available.
For this workshop, I found some resources on writing for management journals. These resources include
- a presentation on getting international business research published
- editorials from the Journal of International Business Studies (an especially helpful one: “Letter from the Editor-in-Chief: JIBS publication criteria and their consequences”)
- the author resources section of the Academy of Management Journal website
I thank Lorraine Eden, a Texas A&M University management professor who recently was editor of a journal, for helping me to find suitable resources.
Links to these resources appear in the AuthorAID Resource Library. These resources can especially help researchers who are in business fields. Much of the content also applies to writing about and publishing other research.
This week I’ll facilitate an AuthorAID research writing workshop and train-the-trainers workshop here in Nepal. The co-facilitator will be Ravi Murugesan, who is new to the AuthorAID team. I plan to introduce Ravi in a blog post soon.
Wishing you a good week— Barbara
