E-learning: A New AuthorAID Initiative

By Ravi Murugesan | Jul. 13, 2012

I'm delighted to announce the launch of the AuthorAID e-learning system. Following the success of the AuthorAID pilot e-learning course last year, we have decided to make e-learning courses available to the AuthorAID community. Our e-learning system is built on Moodle, a popular open-source virtual learning environment, and so we have named it "AuthorAID Moodle."

Within the next couple of weeks, I will create another post here with details of the first e-learning course. At this point, I have set up a simple, "social" course. This course, called "Get to Know AuthorAID," is for you to ask questions on the AuthorAID project. Even if you don't have questions, do feel free to join the course just to become familiar with AuthorAID Moodle.

To access AuthorAID Moodle, click "E-learning" on the menu bar at the top of this website. You'll then see the homepage, and you can create an account by clicking the "Create new account" link under the login box on the right. Even if you have an account on the AuthorAID website, you will need to create a new account on AuthorAID Moodle. The website and e-learning system are not linked to each other.

Once you create an account, you will receive an e-mail with a link, which you should click to activate your account. You can then see the course named "Get to Know AuthorAID." To enrol in the course, simply click on the course link and then click "Enrol me."

If you have any questions on how to access AuthorAID Moodle or enrol in the course, please e-mail me: rmurugesan@inasp.info
