An AuthorAID Survey: Please Respond

By Barbara Gastel | Nov. 08, 2009

Greetings from Cali, Colombia. I arrived here a couple of hours ago. I’m here to give AuthorAID sessions at a workshop organized largely by an AuthorAID partner, the International Foundation for Science (IFS).

On the way to Colombia, I started writing this blog post. I drafted part of it in the Houston airport. I drafted more of it in the Miami airport. Then I finished the blog post a little while ago, after arriving in Cali.

Why the hurry? Here’s the story:

As AuthorAID approaches its third birthday, we are extensively evaluating it. An important part of the evaluation is a survey about the AuthorAID website. Information from the survey will help us to continue improving AuthorAID.

Just as I was about to leave on this trip, AuthorAID’s evaluation expert, Teresa Hanley, asked me to announce the survey in a blog post soon. So, let me note: The survey is posted at https://www.survey.bris.ac.uk/ilrt/authoraid09.

I strongly encourage you to access and answer this survey. Doing so can help us a lot. Also, as the survey notes, respondents can apply for a chance to win a prize.

As another part of the evaluation, Teresa will contact some people who have participated in AuthorAID workshops. If you hear from her, please respond. Teresa already has contacted me, and I look forward to talking with her.

Now, however, I plan to get some sleep after a long day of travel. I look forward to telling you about the workshop here in Cali.
