Resource of the Week #1: On Patents
Greetings! In keeping with discussions at a recent AuthorAID planning meeting, I’m pleased to introduce a new “blog supplement”: Resource of the Week.
Each week, I hope to feature an online or other resource likely to aid or interest members of the AuthorAID community. Some of the featured resources will be items already in the AuthorAID library. Most will be newly featured in AuthorAID.
This week I’m introducing a resource on patents, because at the recent AuthorAID workshop in Nepal a participant asked for resources on this topic. The resource is a “meta-resource” titled Internet Resources for Patents.
This resource includes many links to information sources about patents. There are links to information on patents in general and links to information about patents in specific countries. Some of the information sources have links to yet others.
I’m especially glad the first Resource of the Week is on patents, because my father was a patent attorney. During his career, he obtained more than 1,000 patents and trademarks for his clients. Were he alive today, I think he’d be impressed with how much information about patents is available on the Web.
We hope you’ll find Resource of the Week helpful. If you have resources that you’d like us to consider including, of if there are topics about which you hope we’ll provide resources, please let me know. You can do so by leaving a comment or by sending me a message through the AuthorAID website.
Until my next post— Barbara
