Resource of the Week #87: Some Resources for Editors and Others
Hello again. This week a visiting scholar from Iraq met with me. The visiting scholar is a professor in Iraq. In addition, he is involved in editing journals.
The visiting scholar had some questions about journal editing. When I introduced some online resources, including AuthorAID, he was very interested.
After our meeting, I sent the visiting scholar a few links to resources on journal editing and related topics. While doing so, I realized that some of the resources could interest members of the AuthorAID community.
So, here are most of the resources. After each listed item, I’ll note an aspect of possible interest.
- Committee on Publication Ethics: Highlights include flowcharts for dealing with ethical problems.
- Council of Science Editors: Items freely accessible include issues of Science Editor for 2000 through 2010.
- European Association of Science Editors: Issues of European Science Editing are freely available online 6 months after publication.
- Mediterranean Editors and Translators: Resources include an article containing advice on choosing an editor or translator.
- World Association of Medical Editors: Membership is free.
Do you have other such resources to list? If so, please submit a comment.
Until the next post—
