Resource of the Week #72: Journal-Selection Help and More

Hello again. Our current Resource of the Week was suggested by AuthorAID team member Julie Walker.

This resource, called the Edanz Journal Selector, can help authors identify journals to consider submitting their papers to.  

To obtain a list of potential target journals, enter an abstract or description of your article. The Journal Selector website then lists some journals that seem likely to be suitable.

According to the website,

The journal selector uses cutting-edge semantic technology . . . . Enter in your abstract or a sample text and the Journal Selector will give you a list of journals that publish in related areas. You can then refine your results based on the factors that matter to you, like publication frequency, Impact Factor or publishing model, including open access.

The Edanz website also has other resources to aid researchers who are writing papers. Among them are the following:

• a checklist to help ensure that a manuscript is complete and ready to submit
• writing advice for authors who aren’t native speakers of English
• a guide to writing cover letters
• guidance for responding to peer review

The last 2 items include templates for writing letters.
