Announcement (Part 2): Recipients of Grants to Attend Summer Course
Greetings again. Our previous blog post announced the recipients of AuthorAID grants to attend the 2012 intensive course in research writing: Daniel Limonta (from Cuba) and Joshua Mbanga (from Zimbabwe).
That post included information about Dr. Limonta. This post will include information about Mr. Mbanga. It also will say how others can access content from the course.
Mr. Mbanga is a lecturer at the National University of Science and Technology. He has a master’s degree in biotechnology from the University of Zimbabwe, and his research interests include antimicrobial effects of ethno-medicinal plants.
After the course, Mr. Mbanga plans to share the learning from it with colleagues, especially young researchers at various universities in Zimbabwe.
Mr. Mbanga states:
I feel honoured to have been selected to attend the summer research writing course. I know for me it will be a life-changing opportunity that will not only benefit me as an individual but will also benefit my peers in the academic community in Zimbabwe and hopefully Africa as well.
Thank you, Mr. Mbanga.
Again, our congratulations to Dr. Limonta and Mr. Mbanga. And our compliments to the many researchers who submitted strong applications for the grants.
Because of the high interest in the course, this summer we will post in the AuthorAID Resource Library the PowerPoint presentations from it.
People wanting to access last summer’s main presentations can do so already. We hope they will be useful. Feel free to use them in your own teaching.
Best wishes to all— Barbara
