Newly Announced: The AuthorAID Grant Recipients

Greetings again. I hope you’re doing well.

As you may recall, applications for AuthorAID grants were due the end of last month. AuthorAID received many applications, and the selection committee worked hard to evaluate them.

After much thought, the committee reached its choices. The applicants have been informed, and we are pleased to announce the recipients.

In all, 4 workshop grants are being given. The recipients are as follows (in alphabetical order by name of country):

  • Dr. Mohammad Abdul Mazed, Bangladesh Academy of Sciences: for a workshop on writing and presenting scientific papers
  • Prof. Panna Thapa, Department of Pharmacy, Kathmandu University, Nepal: for a research writing workshop
  • Prof. Shiv K. Tripathi, School of Business, Mzumbe University, Tanzania: for a workshop on writing cases to use in teaching
  • Mr. Phillip Ndhlovu, National University of Science and Technology, Zimbabwe: for a writing skills workshop

The 3 recipients of travel grants are as follows:

  • Dr. Bourama Traore, University of Bamako International Center of Excellence in Research, Mali: to present a poster at the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene Annual Meeting
  • Ms. Kashmira Nanji, The Aga Khan University, Pakistan: to give an oral presentation at the 4th Pan American Congress of the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics
  • Dr. Farooq Azam Rathore, Combined Military Hospital, Pakistan: to present a paper at The Association of Military Surgeons of the United States 117th Annual Conference
