Resource of the Week #25: A Guide to Scientific Writing
Hello again! This week AuthorAID participant Tom Annesley wrote to tell me that the Clinical Chemistry Guide to Scientific Writing is now complete.
Some of you might recall that I’ve mentioned this resource before. Now that the last articles in it are available, I’m making it a Resource of the Week.
The complete guide has 14 articles, mainly on aspects of writing scientific papers for journals. The most recent article discusses authorship. The second-most-recent article presents tips on responding to comments from reviewers and editors.
“[The] articles [in this guide] are easy to read and humorous at times, yet are full of useful information and examples to illustrate important points,” Tom writes. “Because the articles will benefit anyone interested in scientific writing, the articles are available for free to all scientists. Translations into Chinese and Spanish are available.”
Tom notes that these articles can help authors, educators, and others. “Educators and training program directors are encouraged to use them as teaching aids and provide a link to them on their own websites,” he says.
Thank you, Tom, for preparing this series, making it openly accessible, and keeping us informed about it.
Until the next post— Barbara
