A Chance to Give Thanks
Greetings again. I hope you’re doing well.
This Thursday is the US holiday Thanksgiving. On this holiday, which celebrates the harvest, people express thanks for the good things in the world.
I have many things to say thanks for on Thanksgiving. These include the many contributors to and supporters of AuthorAID. Among them are the following:
- the people at INASP headquarters—especially Julie Walker and Sioux Cumming—who administer and otherwise support AuthorAID
- AuthorAID team member Ravi Murugesan, whose work includes directing the e-learning aspect of AuthorAID
- graduate student Bernard Appiah (who prepares the Tip of the Week) and graduate student Michelle Yeoman (who prepares the Sentence of the Week)
- graduate student Alejandra (Alex) Arreola-Triana, who translates AuthorAID materials into Spanish
- the partner organizations that collaborate with AuthorAID on workshops and other activities
- the people in various countries who make local arrangements for AuthorAID workshops
- the technical specialists who have developed, maintained, and strengthened the AuthorAID website
- the many AuthorAID community members who serve as mentors, write guest posts, translate AuthorAID materials, take part in the AuthorAID discussion list, and otherwise add to AuthorAID
- my department head at Texas A&M University, who has been very supportive of my work with AuthorAID
- my husband, who endures my being away on AuthorAID travels
- the funders of AuthorAID, which of course play a crucial role
I hope you will join me in thanking those who contribute to or support AuthorAID. I wish you all could join me for a delicious Thanksgiving dinner.
Until the next post—
Barbara
