The Revised AuthorAID Website

By Barbara Gastel | Oct. 16, 2011

Greetings again. I hope you’re doing well.

As you might have seen, the AuthorAID website has a new look. Have you explored the website since the changes were made? If not, I encourage you to do so.

One change is that the homepage now has a link to the AuthorAID discussion list. It’s on the lower right.

Also, the tabs at the top of the homepage now include one titled Mentoring. Clicking on the Mentoring tab takes you to a section with information for potential mentors and mentees.

Recent resources in the Mentoring section include a case-study report in which a mentor and a mentee each discuss their experience. I found this report interesting and helpful.

In addition, the Resources section, which has grown over the years, has been restructured to better suit its size. In this section, you can now look for resources in various ways:

  • On the left side, you can select resources by topic, by resource type (for example, article, presentation, or Web link), and by language.
  • At the top of the page, you can search using keywords.
  • You also can browse through the complete resource list.

To search the entire AuthorAID website for materials on a topic, you can still use the search box on the upper right of the homepage. Doing so will help find resource-library items, blog posts, and other materials.

We hope the new version of the website is useful. Special thanks to everyone who worked on the improvements.

Wishing you a good week— Barbara
