Resource of the Week #30: The Springer Author Academy
Hello again.
Recently a researcher suggested adding to the AuthorAID Resource Library a resource called the Springer Author Academy. I’ve now looked at this resource and added it.
The Author Academy includes information and advice on many aspects of writing a paper and publishing it in a journal. Among these aspects are choosing a journal, structuring a manuscript, overcoming language barriers, and submitting a manuscript.
The section on overcoming language barriers contains some guidance not widely available elsewhere on the AuthorAID website. Some of the topics discussed in this section are
Other fairly distinctive sections include those on
- Writing a cover letter to accompany a manuscript being submitted to a journal
- Common reasons that papers are rejected
- Responding to comments from reviewers
Some of the advice in this resource (which is from the publisher Springer and the editing service Edanz) applies to some journals but not to others. However, most of the advice is widely applicable.
I thank the researcher who suggested this resource. If you have resources to suggest, please post a comment or contact me.
Until the next post— Barbara
