Resource of the Week #120: A Free Online Oncology Resource

By Barbara Gastel | Jul. 28, 2013

Are you seeking an open access journal to submit articles to, for free? Would you like to watch interviews with experts at cancer conferences worldwide? Then ecancer could be the website for you.

ecancer was set up in 2007 by Professors Gordon McVie and Umberto Veronesi in order to break down barriers, both geographical and financial, to research. Many authors from developing countries face difficulties in both accessing the latest oncology research and getting their own work published. So we’ve made sure that all the content on the site is free.

Videos with experts: If oncologists cannot attend international cancer conferences, they can watch all the highlights on ecancer tv, which has the largest collection of oncology videos in the world (over 2500).

Journal: Researchers can submit articles on any area of cancer research, treatment, or policy to ecancermedicalscience, the open access journal of the European Institute of Oncology, Milan. This journal is indexed in PubMed, PubMed Central, EBSCO, Scopus, Embase, and Google Scholar.

News: ecancer includes the latest oncology news from top organizations around the word.

Education: ecancer provides free elearning modules that are fully accredited for CME (continuing medical education) points.

The ecancer site is now in Spanish as well as English. Also, we offer free translation of Spanish articles if they pass our peer review process. This service is aimed mainly at researchers in Latin America, and it offers wider dissemination of high-quality research done in this region.

Register with ecancer now to receive our free newsletter, conference discounts, and much more.

ecancer does not charge its users, as all costs are covered by charity, sponsorship, and grants.
