Resource of the Week #58: Some Examples of Grant Proposals

By Barbara Gastel | May. 19, 2012

Hello again. A few days ago, at the AuthorAID proposal-writing workshop in Ethiopia, a participant requested more examples of grant proposals.

I promised to look for examples available online. When I found some, I realized that they might also interest other members of the AuthorAID community. And so I’m featuring them as the current Resource of the Week.

Among other things, I found examples of

  • Successful proposals for small grants from the American Political Science Association
  • High-quality budget sections of proposals submitted to the SHRM Foundation (which is affiliated with the Society for Human Resource Management)
  • Excellent applications for grants from the US National Institutes of Health (plus the accompanying summary statements—in other words, the reports presenting the main points from the peer review of the applications)

Also, between days of the workshop, I happened to see an announcement regarding some National Association of Science Writers grants. The announcement noted that examples of successful proposals for the grant had been posted. Here’s a link to them.

Do you know of good grant-proposal examples available online? If so, please let me know. Maybe I’ll feature them in a future Resource of the Week.

Until the next post— Barbara
