How to Get the Most from AuthorAID
Greetings again. I hope that all is going well for you.
Recently some AuthorAID colleagues suggested writing a blog post about getting the most from AuthorAID. So, here are some ideas for gaining full benefit from this resource.
If you haven’t joined AuthorAID, do so now, by completing the sign-up form. (Even without joining, you can read the blog posts and use the resource library. However, joining helps in obtaining further benefits, such as mentoring and online discussion.)
The sign-up form (registration form) is short and easy to complete. On it, please remember to
- Indicate whether you want a mentor, are willing to be a mentor, or neither.
- Check (tick) the box to say that you want to receive news and updates from AuthorAID. You’ll then receive, for example, messages announcing new blog posts.
- Check (tick) the box to say that you’d like to join the AuthorAID e-mail discussion list.
If you've registered already for AuthorAID,
- From time to time, update your information and preferences. You can do so by logging in, clicking on “Profile & Settings”, and then clicking on “Edit profile”.
- If you didn’t do so earlier, request membership in the AuthorAID e-mail discussion list.
Participate actively—for example, by seeking a mentor or mentee, posting or answering messages in the e-mail discussion list, and writing comments about blog posts.
Speaking of which . . . Do you have suggestions for getting the most from AuthorAID? If so, please submit a comment.
Wishing you a good week— Barbara
