Resource of the Week #67: A Source of Many Useful Links

By Barbara Gastel | Jul. 26, 2012

Hello again. Our current Resource of the Week is a large set of links to websites. Although this resource has “health” in its title, it also can aid researchers in other fields.

The resource is titled Essential Health Links. According to its homepage, “This resource provides more than 750 useful websites for health professionals, medical library communities, publishers, and NGOs in developing and emerging countries.”

This resource has 3 main sections: “General Health Resources”, “Library and Publishing Support”, and “Specific Health Resources”. A link and a brief description accompany the name of each listed resource.

The “Library and Publishing Support” section may especially help users of AuthorAID. In particular, this section contains a sub-section titled “Publishing Skills”. As well as a link to AuthorAID, this sub-section has links to several other websites.

Some other listed resources also can aid in writing, publishing, and related activities. One example is Online Statistics Education: An Interactive Multimedia Course of Study. Another is Photoshare, which describes itself as a “photography collection covering a broad range of subjects in international development, with a focus on public health”.

My compliments to the compilers of this set of links!

Until the next post—

Barbara
