Ahmed Waqas, a medical student in Lahore, Pakistan, has just had his research story published in the careers section of the prestigious journal and magazine Science. In the article, Ahmed describes some of the obstacles that he encountered in pursuing research in Pakistan and how mentoring and resources from INASP’s AuthorAID project helped him publish his research.

“I hope one day to set up an epidemiological research centre in Pakistan that would help improve the standard of care for mothers and children with mental health issues,” Ahmad writes. He adds: “I used AuthorAID and its online library to learn about the scientific method, research design, and the writing and publishing processes”. Read the full story here.

About AuthorAID Mentoring

The aim of AuthorAID is to help researchers in developing countries to write about, publish and communicate their work. One way that AuthorAID achieves this is through developing a global network of researchers. Through the network, researchers can find long-term mentors or short-term support to help them through the process of research design, writing and publication. This also enables researchers to find others in their field for collaboration, discussion and information. For more information about mentoring see here.
