A Resource Roundup
Greetings again. I hope you’re doing well.
In recent weeks, several new resources have appeared in the AuthorAID Resource Library. Have you seen them all? If not, let me introduce them:
- “How to Reach a Wider Audience for Your Research”: This SciDev.Net Practical Guide discusses how to make your publications easy to find, track the reach of your work, connect with audiences through social media, and more.
- Two resources on editing and proofreading your own work: We are pleased to share a handout translated into Spanish and an article in English on this topic. Special thanks to Iveliz Martel for the Spanish translation.
- Our first resource in Indonesian: This resource, titled “Penulisan Proposal Kompetitif (How to Write a Competitive Proposal)”, is from a workshop supported by an AuthorAID grant. Special thanks to grantee Saut Sagala for providing it.
- Advice for new editors of journals: This resource is a new version of "A Short Guide to Ethical Editing for New Editors". It comes from COPE (the Committee on Publication Ethics).
- Guidance for Portuguese speakers writing in English: This article for researchers provides tips and examples.
- An updated tutorial on avoiding plagiarism: This resource is new version of a popular self-study resource on recognizing (and thus avoiding) plagiarism. It includes certification tests that you can take.
- Advice on delivering PowerPoint presentations: In this interview article from Science Careers, a researcher who studied PowerPoint presentations gives advice to speakers.
If you have a resource to suggest, please post a comment or write to me. I can be reached at bgastel@inasp.info.
Until the next post—
Barbara
