Biography:
I am a Professor and Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine, a Pain Specialist and Bioethicist working at the Quetta Institute of Medical Sciences, Quetta. I like to describe myself as a rehabilitation medicine physician, lifelong learner, teacher and mentor. With over 250 publications and more than 5500 citations, and as a recipient of numerous awards, travel grants, and scholarships, I am a recognized expert in my field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in Pakistan and the developing world. I have been an invited and plenary speaker in multiple national and international conferences, chairing and co-chairing scientific sessions. I serve as an editorial board member of several international biomedical journals and as the national representative of Pakistan for the International Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ISPRM) and Asia-Oceanian Society of PMR. I have benefitted from the RIsingScholar ( previously AuthorAID) network since2008 and I want to give back to this community. I have conducted over 160 workshops on medical writing, use of AI tools in research, scientific misconduct, research ethics, evidence-based medicine, and presentation skills in 8 countries around the world. My areas of interest and research include spinal cord injuries, stroke rehabilitation, amputee management, disaster rehabilitation, medical education, and bioethics. I am also the Co-Editor in Chief of the JISPRM and the Current Chair of the Disaster Rehabilitation Committee of ISPRM.
