Biography:
Susanna Mitra is an experienced researcher and development specialist who advocates for a context-based, people-centred approach to research and policy on forced migration and displacement. She holds a PhD in Political Studies (public policy) from the University of Manchester, UK. Her research primarily focuses on the implementation of policies, the provision of health services, and the evaluation and design of policies for complex problems. She has collaborated with diverse stakeholders in a variety of settings to create equitable spaces that encourage plural knowledge frames and bridge the gap between research and practice. She has collaborated with international and national research centres (Global Development Institute, Manchester, UK; SOAS, London), international organisations (World Bank, Greenpeace, Médecins Sans Frontières), and has published in peer-reviewed journals such as PLOSOne, Global Governance, Development, and Current Science.
