- Biography:
- Dr. Ulunma Mariere is a medical doctor with over 12 years’ experience in Public Health and Community medicine. She has a Master’s degree in Health management, planning and policy from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom and is rounding up a MSc in Medical Education with the Center for Medical Research and Training (CENMERT), University of Port-Harcourt, Rivers State. She is also a fellow of the West African College of Physicians, Faculty of Community Health. Dr Mariere is also a volunteer lecturer with the Niger-Delta University Amassoma, Bayelsa State where she lectures medical students and at the post-graduate school. Ulunma has vastly deployed her skills working with partner agencies such as the World Health Organisation (WHO), UNICEF, NPHCDA, BHIS amongst others. She is a reviewer for the Nigerian Health Journal and supervises PHD projects with the African Centre of Excellence Public Health & Toxicology Research (ACE-PUTOR), UNIPORT, Rivers State. She heads the Health Insurance Programmes at the Federal Medical Centre, Bayelsa State. Her key areas of expertise include Public Health, Medical Education, Health Systems Strengthening, Leadership and management, Healthcare financing, Use of Reference management software, Research Project development and implementation, Data management amongst others. Dr Mariere is passionate about research, learning, knowledge sharing and mentoring and so facilitates training and teaching platforms. She is a budding healthcare data analyst with growing proficiency with the use of Power Bi, SQL, Python, R programming and Machine learning.
