- Dr. James Zulu is currently the Advisor in-charge of Men’s Clinic Initiatives and Health Promotions at the Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ) which is being supported by the United States of America Presidential Fund through Centre for Disease Control (CDC) an American Organisation. He is the author of the Research Guidelines: A complete guide to your successful academic writing. He served at the same organisation as a Project coordinator for a Community led Prevention Program where he successfully implemented the Community Compact Project in two project sites using various community and project management tools. He has served as the MSME Training, Investment and Support Manager a Micro Financing Organisation called Business and Investment Unit for People with Disabilities (BIUD) promoted by Power International of UK where he promoted the Micro, Small and Medium Entrepreneurs through capacity building and market linkages. He also served as Organisational Development and Public Relations Manager for Zambia Red Cross Society from 2000 to 2012 where he was in charge of Organisational Development, Governance and Public Relations. He briefly worked as a General Manager for COMESA where he spearheaded the set-up of a Traders Trust for the Cross-border traders. He is a holder of a PhD in Public Health, a Master’s in Philosophy(MPhil),a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) - Global Health, a Master’s (MA) in Strategic Management and Planning, a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) Generic, a Post Graduate Degree in Business Management ( PGBM), a Bachelors in Business Administration(BBA), a Diploma in Project management, Diploma in Education, Diploma in Accountancy II, an Advanced Certificate in Infectious Disease Prevention, Occupational Health and Safety, a postgraduate certificate in Leadership and Management of Health, a postgraduate certificate in Global Mental Health, an Advanced Certificate in Business Studies,, and he has done various courses in Grants administration and Management Training Program, Proposal writing and Research writing, Leadership and Entrepreneurship, Sphere Inter-agency Training, Regional Disaster Response Training, Basic Disaster management Training with certificates of attendance in different fields. Currently, doing another Masters in International Relations and Diplomacy at National Institute for Public Administration. He has more than 19 years’ experience in Project Management, Strategic Planning, Policy formulation, Capacity Building, Resource Mobilisation, Advocacy, Volunteer Management, Community Development or Branch Development, Governance issues and organisation development. He spent his entirely 12 years in the humanitarian field dealing with volunteer capacity building, strategic planning, Project management, resource mobilisation and advocating for the vulnerable groups. He was part of the team which came up with a regional project called Zambezi River Basin Initiative (ZRBI) which seeks to reduce the impacts of disasters and other challenges on communities living along the Zambezi river basin, aiming to improve the quality of their lives and livelihoods through comprehensive, sustainable and integrated disaster management, branch development, and health and care programmes. He was also a key team member for the Pilot Project for Climate Change project (PPCR) which World Bank is supporting the Zambian Government. He has national, international and regional experience in presenting various project papers to various forums. He profiled the various projects including the HIV/AIDS projects and other health related projects when he was with the Red Cross as a focal person for the media. With a background in Business studies he worked as a Secondary School Teacher with the Government of the Republic of Zambia for 6 years before joining the Non-Governmental Organisation(NGOs). He is a Global Master trainer in Community Based Health and First Aid (CBHFA) with the International Federation of the Red Cross Societies(IFRC) and a trained Trainer in ILO Starting up your Small Businesses. In his spare time, he has associated himself with various local and international universities where he leads teams in research and lecturing various thematic areas. He is a current Board Secretary on the CareCoop Board of Directors and he is the current Chair of the Ministry Of Health/National Aids Council SBCC Technical Working Group. He is a Member of the Kazian School of Management advisory Board since 2014 in India (https://www.ksmedu.org/advisory-board.php ), and he served as a Member of the National Executive Committee of the International Coalition of Fellowships (ICOF) Zambia Incorporated as ICOF Colleges Seminary and Universities a Non-Profit Company where he was the National Coordinator running and managing the Centre for Disability Development Research Law and Policy (CDDRLP) a disability Department of ICOF whose Africa office is in South Africa.( http://www.icofafrica.net/news-events/latest-education-news/dr-james-zulu-appointed-national-coordinator-for-cddrlp-zambia-office-professor-mwape ), I also served on the Clinics for All (Clinics4All) International Advisory Board (www.clinicsforall.org) and I am the current Board Vice Chair of the Ibex Hill School Board or PTA, former Board Treasurer of the Lusaka High School Board, Former Chairperson of the Southern African Regional Communication Forum for all Communication Managers/Information Officers in the Red Cross National Societies under the Southern Africa International Federation of the Red Cross. Dr James Zulu is a Zambian national.
