BIO OF HOST:

Dr. Charles Kalinzi is Chair of the Rising Scholars Stewards Committee and a Senior Teaching Fellow in Strategic Procurement at the University of Portsmouth. A certified public sector procurement expert, he has served as a Rising Scholars mentor since 2023 and previously supported women-owned enterprises in Uganda through the Women Mean Business initiative under the TechnoServe Project. Charles brings broad experience across academia and industry, including senior consultancy, procurement audit, and training roles with higher education institutions in Uganda and private consultancy firms across Africa. He has taught and led procurement and supply chain programmes in multiple Ugandan universities. His research focuses on procurement professionalism, strategic procurement, and supply management.
