This session will explore the spectrum of educational innovation, from high-fidelity technological integration—including simulations, ultrasound, and smart platforms—to the strategic use of open-access resources in resource-poor settings. A central theme will be navigating the multicultural education landscape, proposing pedagogical strategies that are inclusive and responsive to the fluid identities of modern learners, ensuring equitable and impactful learning for all.

BIO OF FACILITATORS:

Dr. Yasith Mathangasinghe is a Lecturer at Monash University and the lead anatomy coordinator for the Graduate Entry Medicine program. He has published in top-tier journals and has a strong interest in educational innovation, leading the creation of an award-winning application for fairer authentic assessments.

Dr. Brenda Hernandez is a physician specialized in forensic medicine and an Assistant Lecturer at the Centre for Human Anatomy Education, Monash University. Her teaching approach integrates technology and educational games to enhance learning and engagement.

Ms. Lasni Buddhibhashika Jayasooriya is a PhD candidate in Comparative and International Education at the Department of Education, Kyushu University. Her research focuses on identity politics, bilingual education, English-medium instruction, higher education, social justice, intercultural education, and Global Citizenship Education (GCE).

Dr. Choy Ker Woon is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), with a research niche in forensic anthropology and radiology. She integrates play-based learning programs to make Anatomy engaging and fun, an initiative that earned her the Special Innovation Award.

Dr. Pilard Hanna is an Assistant Professor of Anatomy at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Director of the Anatomy Outreach Program. She is dedicated to advancing anatomical education both in the classroom and through community outreach.
