- Biography:
- Dr T. Olivier Amoussou was born on June 12, 1985 in Savalou, Benin. Raised in Dassa-Zoumé and Cotonou, Benin. He received the B.A.Sc. degree (Animal Production) from University of Abomey-Calavi in 2009, the M.Sc. degree (Fisheries and Aquaculture) from University of Abomey-Calavi in 2011, and the Joint Ph.D. degree (Fisheries Science) from Nazi Boni University, Burkina Faso, and University of Abomey-Calavi, Benin in 2017, during which he studied Aquaculture and Fish genetics with CIRDES ‘‘Centre International de Recherche Développement sur l’Elevage en zone Subhumide’’. From November 2017 to November 2018, he was a Postdoctoral researcher at CIRDES where he worked on the conservation management of aquatic genetic resources (aquatic animals and plants) by using aquacultural, molecular and genetic approaches. His ultimate goal is to assist small-scale fishers, fish farmers and fishmongers while contributing not only to food and nutritional security but also to environmental sustainability of aquatic systems.
