Creado por Barbara Gastel | Jun. 17, 2012

Hello again. Our current Resource of the Week is a set of webinars on scientific writing. It was recommended by an AuthorAID community member.

These webinars are from the American Society of Animal Science. The speakers are 2 former editors-in-chief of the Journal of Animal Science. They have written many scientific papers, and they have peer-reviewed thousands of journal submissions.

The titles of the webinars are the following:

Overview of Scientific Publishing

Writing as Integral Part of Research Process

Basic Writing Skills

Exercise 1: Review of unedited writing

Common Problems in Scientific Writing (and questions & answers)

Part 1 Manuscript Components

Part 2 Manuscript Components

Exercise 2: Develop title and outline for journal article; Review of work

Making Effective Tables and Figures

Manuscript Submission to Journal

Successful Navigation of Review Process

The webinars range in length from about 10 minutes to about 1 hour. They contain slides and spoken narration.

The first time I accessed some of these webinars, there was a problem with the sound. However, when I tried again, the sound was fine. So, don’t give up!

I thank the AuthorAID member who mentioned this resource.

Until the next post—

Barbara
