Emerald Group Publishing Limited is a publisher of global research with impact in business, society, public policy, and education. Emerald is committed to supporting authorship and promoting the dissemination of research in emerging markets through several initiatives.

The most prominent initiative is our collection of research fund awards in the areas of management, library and information science, and engineering. These awards offer cash prizes to fund research projects that demonstrate excellence in research and benefit the researchers’ country or region.

Right now researchers can submit proposals for African Research Fund Awards in the categories of management and engineering. The award competition is being run by Emerald in partnership with ALCS (The Authors' Licensing and Collecting Society) and INASP. One research proposal in each category will be chosen to receive £2,500 (or currency equivalent) to fund the winning research project.

Emerald is also sponsoring a case study competition with AABS (Association of African Business Schools). Cash prizes will be awarded to 3 outstanding submissions. The winner will receive US$1,500, and the first and second runners-up will receive US$1,000 and US$500, respectively.

In addition to these awards, Emerald supports authorship by offering a multitude of free author resources, including the Insider's Guide to Getting Published, as well as a research connections service.
