- Biografía:
- Martha has fourteen years of experience in the non-profit sector, and earned an Executive Diploma in Leadership and Management from the University of Zimbabwe. Martha also earned a Higher Diploma in Information Sciences with Harare Polytechnic College and is currently studying towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Media Studies with the Zimbabwe Open University. She is currently working as an Information and Communications Consultant at Zimbabwe Women’s Resource Centre and Network. Martha was an Exchange Fellow under the Fredskorpset (FK Norway) Exchange Program based in at the Development Research and Social Policy Analysis Center, Kampala-Uganda from May 2014 – March 2015, and then moved to FEMNET, Kenya-Nairobi from April to May 2015. As an exchange fellow, she assisted with information and knowledge management. Through this role she prepared manuscripts, compiled e-bulletins, wrote policy briefs on HIV and AIDS as well as on women and property rights as well as managed social media pages. Previously, Martha worked with a women’s rights organization to empower women and advocate for women’s social and economic justice in Zimbabwe, for two years. She managed the gender and information program, acquiring and disseminating information on gender and development. Martha also worked for a non-profit leadership academy for ten years in Harare, Zimbabwe, as the library and information manager. Through these experiences, she developed strong information and communications management skills. Martha enjoys promoting women’s literacy rights and has a passion for the emancipation of women and the girl child. She is a member of the African Women’s Development and Communication Network (FEMNET) and is also a member of the International Literacy Association (ILA).
